What Is CheckPage?

CheckPage is a Twitter application that checks a web page and alerts you if anything changes. The alert is delivered to you as a tweet reply. The reply contains the original url and a pointer to a page with all the changes highlighted.

What can I use CheckPage for?

There are several uses. A few are listed below:

  1. You can track your partners/customers news pages
  2. You can check your competitor's site to track new product releases, news items
  3. You can track government sites for new RFPs (request for proposals)
  4. You can create a search and track the page everyday (new items in the search will be highlighted)
  5. You can track job searches to find new postings

How do I use CheckPage?

You simply tweet. ( Note : Please make sure that you also include http:// in the URL )

@checkpage start <url>

Starts tracking the page specified by <url>. If the url is too long please shorten it using a url shortener.

Example : @checkpage start http://www.cnn.com/

@checkpage stop <url>

Stops tracking the page

Example : @checkpage stop http://www.cnn.com/

@checkpage pause <url>

Temporarily suspends tracking the page

Example : @checkpage pause http://www.cnn.com/

@checkpage resume <url>

Resumes tracking the page

Example : @checkpage resume http://www.cnn.com/

If the page changes, you will receive a tweet with both the original url and a changeurl. The changeurl will lead you to a page where all the changes are highlighted.
